Bob and Poppi's 50th Wedding Anniversary in Hawaii

my mom really outdid herself with our condos they were so beautiful and spacious!! we stayed at the outrigger kanaloa @-kona.. i highly recommend it if your going to kona.. everyone was so nice and the view was spectacular..

we arrived around 4:30 and by the time we got our cars and went to the grocery store it was around 7:00 or 8 when we went to dinner, we ended up a sushi place right by the condo kenichi pacific and they had the best fried calamari i think i've ever had.. actually everything we had was yummy.. 





our room had not only a veiw of the ocean but this little alcove where snorklers and paddle boarders could be seen all hours of the day..

 

monday for our first day in hawaii we spent the day at hilton waikoloa village.. which was so fun.. they had dolphin pools.. 

 

slides and well super yummy mojitos!! 

 

i was so happy to see a christmas tree..

 there where little caves with waterfalls.. a very nice place to spend the day..

ollie loves his cousin.. they kept going down the slide together..

i am not sure i have ever seen ollie so happy and excited.. he loved the slides and his cousins loved sliding down with him.. after spending the day at the pool we had a late lunch at the lagoon grill.. i had one of the best burgers!! i really wanted to get the 2012 special which was 2 lobster burgers.. but i was talked out of it.. boo.. he he

it was christmas eve and we had dinner at the rays by the bay rum bar ohh my was it good.. i had lobster and shrimp dumplings.. **swoon** jake had a rib eye he said was one of the best he has ever had from a restuarant.. dinner was a success..



the next morning was christmas and we woke up to this little guy visiting.. since it's tradition that we have huevos rancheros on christmas morning i made it for all of us.. all 13 of us.. and it was scrumptious.. nothing like having breakfast over looking the ocean.. some of the group went golfing while us girls.. shell, sam, mom and i went for a little cruise in the convertable mustang my mom rented..
 

 

we then ended up at humpys for lunch.. it was very good.. i had the fresh catch of the day fish tacos..

 

then back to the condo for some r and r before dinner.. that night we enjoyed the buffet at honu's on the beach @ the marriott courtyard king kamehamehas kona beach hotel.. 

the next morning we got up early and the kids went fishing.. pete wasn't up for it but he was up for breakfast.. so we headed over to bongo bens island cafe..

 

and sipped on tropical mimosas

and enjoyed the view..

when the kids got back from fishing we met curtis, janet and the kids at humpys (again) for a late lunch!! then back to the condo for swimming in the pool and a bbq.. 

 

the next day we went to the kona brew company for a tour and lunch!! if you ever end up there have their pizza it's amazing!!  but before we went  

and since pete was starting to feel human again.. we enjoyed a few cocktails and appetizers on the lanai..
 

and shell got ready to go on the helicopter tour..
 

the lava was flowing into the ocean.. a once in a life time opportunity for them to see this!!

we ended up staying in for dinner and watched amelia and ollie so we had dinosaur chicken nuggets, d'giorno pizza and the disney channel. (ohh how i love the disney channel i miss that my kids are to old for it..) 

 

the next day for breakfast i made chocolate covered macadamia nut pancakes, scrambled eggs, porguese sausage and fresh fruit.. the kids must have been energized because they decided they wanted to go parasailing!! and yes even ollie and no we didn't tell bob and poppi until it was over..

 

 

they had such a great time!!
 

afterwards was back to the condo for some fun and sitting on the lanai watching the sunset.. we again bbq'd i grilled thin cut tri tip and chicken.. baked potatoes, salad and garlic bread.. and another night of disney with the kids.. when they went to their condo shell caught me in my room watching disney all by myself.. she just laughed..



 

 

the next morning we met curtis, janet and the kids at bubba gump's for breakfast..

where pete and i enjoyed peach mimosas and bloody marys!!

amelia was her smiling happy self.. of course..

 you'd think the girls would be tired of pictures by now but i promised shopping after breakfast so that eased the pain!!

 after shopping we headed over to the beach..
 

 

i felt so protective of this little guy or rather old guy.. the boys went snorkling while us girls hung out by the shore..

our final night in hawaii we celebrated my parents anniversary at don the beachcomber.. wow talk about good food and it was so much fun there was a wedding going on and we were there celebrating 50 years truly a special evening.. 

 

 

 

wonderful trip with memories that will last a life time!! (by the looks of things my dad was happy with his molten chocolate lava cake.. he he)
