pizza perfection.. garlicky deliciousness..

 i love pizza.. i might have mentioned that a time or two.. i love just plain cheese pizza or with fun and unusual toppings.. or traditional.. simply put i love pizza!!! i made garlic confit.. that recipe here.. and it was outstanding.. instead of traditional red sauce i used the garlic infused oil as my base for both pizzas below..i usually make my own dough but this time i used the the dough from whole foods.. and i got to tell you it was really good.. very chewy.. fluffy.. crisp on the bottom.. pizza perfection.. if you recall i made this crab rangoon pizza and it was my favorite, well until i made asparagus, spinach and garlic pizza.. and now it's my new favorite.. {until next week when i try another new one i am sure.. i am thinking of adding an egg to my next pizza.. wish me luck *wink*}

asparagus spinach & garlic pizza

prep time: 15 minutes
cooking time: 7 minutes
servings: 1 pizza

ingredients:

pizza dough, cut in half, {my go to recipe that i use can be found here or a pre made pizza dough from the store is fine i recommend whole foods.. which is what i used this time}
1 cup of fresh grated mozzarella cheese
6 or 7 asparagus spears, woody ends removed and chopped
1 cup fresh spinach leaves
6-8 roasted garlic cloves
garlic oil {recipe for roasted garlic cloves and oil can be found here..}
fresh cracked black pepper

preheat your oven to 500 degrees (f) for 30 minutes with your pizza stone in the oven.. while it's heating up get a medium saute pan and heat two twirls around the pan with garlic olive oil over medium heat.. add your asparagus and cook for about 2 minutes then add your spinach and cook another 3-4 minutes.. remove from stove.. now cut the pizza dough in half {reserve other half for the sausage pizza below} and roll out one 1/2 of the dough on a floured surface to the thickness your family likes.. slide the pizza dough on to a piece of parchment paper..brush garlic olive oil all over dough and then add your fresh cracked black pepper.. now it's time to sprinkle your mozzarella.. then add spinach and asparagus and roasted garlic cloves over cheese. now pick up parchment and pizza and slide gently onto pizza stone.. bake until lightly brown and cheese is melted.. about 6-7 minutes.. but keep an eye on it the thin pizza cooks up pretty fast.. remove from oven and allow to cool for about 3-4 minutes. slice and serve..
