insanely good chocolate donuts
we had such a great easter party this year.. everything worked out even when it didn't.. i had a coffee station this year.. i put my kuerig coffee maker on the outdoor kitchen and had different coffee pods.. i had mocha swirl, vanilla, caramel drizzle and different flavored creamers.. i also had a regular coffee maker out with a morning blend coffee.. in the past i have had to make 2 and 3 pots of coffee, but this year not one person got a cup a coffee.. i didn't figure out why until i was putting everything away.. ooops i forgot to put out coffee cups.. doh!!! the mimosa bar did get used and so it evened itself out!! if you can believe it it was 90 degrees on easter and that might have contributed to people not wanting coffee.. an ice cold mimosa was definitely refreshing.. but even the heat didn't stop anyone from having fun!!
i decided to put my donut pan to good use this year and i made cinnamon donuts {with the only change being i tossed in some cinnamon chips to the batter} and then i made these chocolate donuts!! i have to say they were amazing..i used grandmommy's go to miracle whip chocolate cake recipe because well they are cake donuts and that's the best cake recipe i know.. i then dipped them in chocolate ganache and added a few sprinkles!! they were I N S A N E L Y good!! you must try these!!
for serving i placed them on glass cake plates and they looked really pretty!!
