throwback thursday.. grilled bbq wings aka dillinger "style" wings aka grilled bbq buffalo wings

for throwback thursday i am sharing this wing recipe from a few months ago.. i love using my grill, i pretty much grill everything.. wings, pizza, steaks, burgers, veggies and even fruit.. now i have never made it a secret i am absolutely,without remorse, addicted to chicken wings.. i could easily eat them every week.. in an attempt to save calories, i make them a lot at home in the oven rather than "frying" them.. grilling them after you have cooked them in the oven makes them outstanding.. these are {right now} by far my favorite wings..

bbq grilled chicken wings

prep time: 5 minutes
cooking time: 1 hour
servings: 4-6

ingredients:

a bag of frozen chicken wings {or fresh wings and drumetts}
pam
1 cup of your favorite bbq sauce {i used sweet baby rays}
1 cup franks hot buffalo wing sauce

directions:

preheat oven to 425 degrees (f)..take a cookie sheet, cover with foil, put a rack over foil.. spray with pam.. arrange your chicken wings on rack and spray the wings with pam.. cook for about 30 minutes then flip them over and cook another 30 minutes.. preheat your outdoor or indoor grill to medium high.. get it pretty hot.. remove chicken from oven and add your chicken wings to a bowl.. add bbq sauce and toss to evenly coat {to make them dillinger "style" add franks buffalo hot sauce also with the bbq sauce} with tongs remove your chicken wings from the bowl and place on the hot grill grates.. and reduce heat to medium low.. cook for about 5-7 minutes then flip them over and cook another 5-10 minutes.. until done.. keep an eye on them because the sugar in the bbq sauce can burn, but you do want them to get slightly charred because that's what makes them awesome.. remove from grill and serve immediately.. warning!! they will be sticky, sweet and hot/spicy and simply delicious.. serve them with my homemade blue cheese dipping sauce.. recipe found here..

dillinger's is a bar/restaurant in boulder city that we love to visit..

enjoy and get cook'n!!
